Biography:
Marie Stampe Ostenfeld is a Senior R&D Manager of the Dept. of Nutrition & Health in Discover, Arla Foods Ingredients R&D. Her Dept. investigates underlying biological and health mechanisms of novel milk ingredients in pre-clinical and clinical studies. She received her PhD degree within translational cancer- and cellular biology from the Danish Cancer Society (2006). In her Post Doc period, she conducted translational bladder cancer research at University of Aarhus. From 2011, Marie Stampe Ostenfeld held a position as Assoc. Prof. at University of Aarhus, Dept of Molecular Medicine. Here, she established a research group within extracellular vesicles research with a focus on miRNA content and their biological role and target mRNA regulation, as well as their potential as circulating disease biomarkers. She has been an active member of Microvesicles and Exosomes in Health and Disease (ME-HaD, COST action), International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV), and is a founding Board member of Danish Society for Extracellular Vesicles (DSEV). Marie Stampe Ostenfeld, has supervised 10 master- and PhD students, is an organizer of scientific symposia, has published ~40 publications (citations >5000). Current work also involves overseeing public-private partnership research with a range of academic institutions on the health effect of milk ingredients.
